If the drain is close enough, use a gloved hand to reach inside and pull it out. If you need to go a little deeper, you can fashion a thin hook using the wiring from a coat hanger. This little hook can effectively fish out any clogs that are a little deeper. You can also use a handy-dandy plunger—this tool can especially be helpful with kitchen sinks. When it comes to kitchen sinks, if you find your garbage disposal is clogged or stuck, you can try taking a more manual approach; use a 1/4^th Allen key in the underside of disposal and crank in both directions.

3. Monthly Cleaning Solution

You can skip the second step if you don’t notice any clogs or slow drains. Simply make a mixture using 1 cup of vinegar, 1 cup of hot water and half a cup of baking soda. Pour the mixture down the drain and cover the sink using a drain plug and let it sit for 10 minutes. Use 1 cup of boiling water to clear the mixture out. You can also try this mixture out when you have clogs.
